Russell ‘Mother’ Armstrong

Russell ‘Mother’ Armstrong soloed in a 1939 Piper J-3 Cub and then earned his driver’s license, both on his 16th birthday in that order. His flight instructor, Weldon Bragg, was a decorated Boeing B-17 bomber pilot during World War II. Today, Armstrong is an instrument-rated Commercial Pilot and holds Single-Engine Land, Multi-Engine Land, Single-Engine Sea, and Rotorcraft ratings.

Armstrong has owned and operated numerous aircraft including Mooney M20, Maule M7-235, DHC-2 deHavilland Beaver, Bonanza A-36, Legend Cub, Cessna 414A Chancellor, Cessna 150 and 172, Piper J-3, Beechcraft Super King Air B-200, BAC Jet Provost Mk. 5, Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros jet trainer, Bell OH-58A Kiowa, and Bell UH-1H Iroquois ‘Huey.’

He currently serves as Advisory Director for the Classic Jet Aircraft Association (CJAA) and has served as Board Member and Treasurer. He earned his Formation and Safety Team (FAST) Wing Card in 2021, his FAST Lead Card in 2022, and is the lead pilot for the Lone Star Jet Team flying his white ‘Thunderbird’ L-39.
Armstrong has been in the financial services industry since 1982 and is a Certified Financial Planner Practitioner and Financial Advisor in Commerce, Texas. Russell married his high school sweetheart, Lee, in 1984 and lives in Commerce, Texas. They have two married adult children, a wonderful daughter-in-law and son-in-law, and three beautiful granddaughters.

Rick ‘K-Bad’ Boone

Boone grew up in a military family and was exposed to aviation at an early age. His father was a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II and retired from the Air Force after 29 years.

Boone earned his private pilot license in 1976 and has accumulated more than 4,000 hours. He is an instrument rated Commercial Pilot with Single-Engine Land, Multi-Engine Land, and Lighter-Than-Air Balloon ratings. His list of aircraft types includes Raven-9 Balloon, Van’s RV4 and RV8, Cessna 150/172/180/340, Beechcraft V35 and A36 Bonanza, B55 and B58 Baron, Socata TBM 700 and 900, and Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros.

Boone is currently serving as a Board Member for the Classic Jet Aircraft Association (CJAA). He holds a Formation and Safety Team (FAST) Wing Card and is member of the Lone Star Jet Team flying his green ‘East German Air Force’ L-39.

Boone spent 50 years in the restaurant business and now enjoys flying, racing cars, traveling, and spending time with his family. He married Cyndi in 1978 and lives in Wichita Falls, Texas. They have two adult children.

Chris ‘Neo’ Lamprecht

Chris Lamprecht became interested in aviation, at an early age, flying the Cessna 182 with Microsoft Flight Simulator. He earned his private pilot’s license in the United States in 2013 and again in Argentina, completing their requirements, in 2016. In 2018, he flew a Columbia 400 from Texas to the southern tip of Argentina and back. In 2020, he checked out in the Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros.

He holds a Single-Engine Land and Instrument rating and Complex and High-Performance endorsements. He is typed in the L-39 Albatros.

Lamprecht is a member of the Classic Jet Aircraft Association (CJAA) and holds a Formation and Safety Team (FAST) Wing Card. He is a member of the Lone Star Jet Team flying his green ‘East German Air Force’ L-39.

Lamprecht his wife Michelle live in Austin, Texas.

Victor ‘Sonny’ Schilleci

Schilleci has been involved in aviation since he was a child. His father was a flight instructor, and Schilleci grew up in the local aviation community learning from his father and fellow aviators. He soloed on his 16th birthday in a North American T-28B Trojan. He then began flying the family’s T-6G Texan, creating a special love for vintage warbirds. He has owned his East German Aero Vodochody L-39ZO for nearly 20 years now and is the second owner since its retirement from the East German Air Force in 1989.
Sonny holds Commercial Pilot privileges for both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft with Instrument rating. He is a FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P) with Inspection Authorization (IA) authority. He also holds an FAA Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Remote Pilot’s License to operate UAS vehicles in support of government and heavy industrial applications. In addition, he has a 30+ year background operating a FAA Part 145 repair facility specializing in avionics, airframe electrical, and specialized aerospace and defense applications, at Lakefront Airport New Orleans (KNEW). His aircraft type ratings include Challenger 300/350/3500, Phenom 100, Phenom 300, and Citation 525 series business jets amongst flying many other turbine and reciprocating engine aircraft. He holds authorized experimental aircraft ratings in the Aero Vodochody L-39 Albatros and Yakolev YAK-3/9/11.
Sonny is the past president of the Classic Jet Aircraft Association (CJAA) and holds a Formation and Safety Team (FAST) Lead Card. He is a member of the Lone Star Jet Team flying his L-39ZO now painted in classic Egyptian Air Force desert camo colors.

Along with his impressive career in aviation, Sonny also had a long career as a law enforcement officer. He graduated from Louisiana State Police (LSP) Academy Class 76 and was quickly assigned to Criminal Interdiction. During Hurricane Katrina he was assigned as day watch shift commander and was responsible for coordinating search, rescue, and recovery operations in the greater New Orleans area. Schilleci was selected as LSP Trooper of the Year in 2010 and earned numerous other awards and achievements throughout his career.
